Have you wondered about the fascinating obsession of the current generation with scuba diving?
Well, if you have then you have come to the right place! I am an extreme fan of scuba diving and I am holding out for the pandemic to be over to run and get my open water diver certification. And it’s not only me who is waiting for the day we are free to travel the world and see the wonders of the ocean. There are millions like me around the world who are dying for a good diving session.
And ofcourse, we have our reasons for loving scuba diving as much as we do. Let’s talk about some of the very insightful reasons!

A Whole New World
The ocean is definitely a world that is unfamiliar, cold, and vast. But it is also colorful, magical, and abundant with so many aquatic wildlife. Who would not want to see the miraculousness of angelfishes, seals, and other aquatic wonders? Scuba diving has given divers a whole new world and a whole new perspective to explore. People are given the opportunity to travel the world, experiencing new wildlife, and unique creatures, meeting people with the same interest as you and different expertise. You are not only opening up yourself to the vast ocean, but you are opening to new adventures.
Better Mental Health
Diving can get pretty addictive and it’s all for the right reasons. Many highlight the risks of diving and it somehow still does not stop us, divers. Even in the face of a pretty scary shark, the thrill of experiencing uncharted colorful territory makes it all worth it. Divers are known to have better moods, productive behavior, and much more wellness in their life. They are physically fitter, happier, and less stressed than the average individual. Having a hobby we love and educating ourselves every day through the new hobby of the ocean, does wonders to the human mind.
A Social Adventure
Did I mention that we meet very interesting people through diving? While we might be interacting with the ocean’s wildlife, we are certainly not doing it alone. Through diving, we interact with no many different people from different backgrounds and experience wonders with complete strangers. These strangers share the same passion for adventure, marine life, and the environment. So if you are looking for an activity that bonds people to one another, I cannot think of a better activity than scuba diving.
Helping The Ocean
Scuba divers are very environmentally friendly. Many of them go out on expeditions to clean the ocean and take out the junk, help turtles and other marine life. While the world is evolving technologically and in so many different ways, scuba divers are aware of what these changes do to the ocean and marine life. And ofcourse, they are big advocates for better environmental practices and saving the world. They have a bigger appreciation for the world and the organisms around them. And they are aware of what needs to be done to save them.
People love scuba diving because it is more than just about the ocean. It is a social activity that is also educational, fun, and exciting. So what are you waiting for? Let’s join more and more scuba diving adventures! …
